Learning Objectives
1.Aims
The school focus on the training and development of students on various generic abilities and values, and hopes to help students improve:
- Self-confidence, rationality and responsibility, and develop a healthy personality
- A sense national identity and a commitment to contribute to the country and the world
- Interest and curiosity in the natural and technological world, and understand the impact of scientific and technological development on society
2.Objectives
General Studies at our school focuses on equipping students to cope with the changes in the local and international society. The curriculum is designed with the following objectives:
- Develop science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education to enhance students’interest and curiosity in science and technology
- Deepen values education to emphasize the development of students' affection
- Continuously develop generic skills and develop students' communication skills, critical thinking skills and creativity in different learning activities
- Develop competencies in the effective and ethical use of information and information technology
3.Features
There are different forms of project learning in General Studies at our school to develop students' generic abilities. For example, there are project learning courses at Primary 4, and interdisciplinary project learning at Primary 5 to Primary 6. In addition, our school also designs projects for long vacations according to different grades and topics, and encourage students to create and share on electronic platforms.
In order to cultivate students' spirit of scientific inquiry and provide a diverse learning experience,
the school also holds a technology day every year and encourages students to participate in different types of competitions.
4.Resource support
- There is a "Self-study Corner" in the classroom, so that students can study during their breaks
- There is a general studies room for students to carry out experimental activities, built-in a number of experimental supplies
- The school sets up a STEM activity room with different machines, such as a wood cutting machine, so that students can make different works
